In the Night Garden wins Excellence in Broadcasting Award

Ragdoll Productions has announced that its BAFTA award-winning programme In the Night Garden has been awarded the Best Children's Television Programme in 2010 by the members of the Voice of The Listener & Viewer (VLV).

VLV makes Annual Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting, nominated and voted for by its members.

Andrew Davenport, creator of In the Night Garden, accepted the Award at a ceremony in London on 12th April.

Andrew was delighted to accept this honour for In the Night Garden, especially as the Award: “means that much more because of the immense respect, indeed gratitude, we programme makers feel for the VLV, particularly in light of their work in the children’s area”.

He continued by saying: “Television is the perfect playful medium, and - especially in today’s climate - it is a fantastic resource that we cannot afford to neglect or marginalise. So I believe very much in the positive power of television for children, and am especially grateful for the significant support we continue to receive from the VLV.”
