Multi-territory deal for PopPixie
Rainbow has announced that Nickelodeon has secured international broadcast rights for PopPixie on Nickelodeon channels in the UK, Germany, Scandinavia, Benelux, South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, Eastern Europe, CIS, and Africa.
Iginio Straffi, CEO and founder of Rainbow commented: “We are extremely pleased to enter such a broad deal with Nickelodeon for PopPixie as they really are the ideal broadcasting partner for this kind of property. We feel very confident that the success PopPixie has achieved so far, both in TV ratings and licensing will be even greater with this multi-territory deal.”
In addition to the Nickelodeon deal, PopPixie has also been sold to RAI (Italy), France 3, Clan TVE, Canal Panda (Portugal), Junior and MTV3 (Finland), CTC (Russia), M-Net (Africa), Kanal D (Turkey), MBC (Middle East and North Africa), and Noga (Israel). PopPixie will now be aired in over 50 territories, which will be a major boon to master toy licensee Bandai, as well as the 30 plus major European licensees already on board, from Giochi Preziosi, Clementoni and Ravensburger to Rusconi, Hachette, and Mirtillo.
PopPixie programming will premiere on Nickelodeon's international channels in the UK, Germany, Scandinavia, Benelux, South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, Eastern Europe, CIS, and Africa later this year and throughout 2012.
