All change at Classic Media
Andrew Kerr, current EVP, international marketing and consumer products, leaves to start own venture. Nicola Blake has been promoted to EVP, marketing and consumer products, and will be assuming Andrew's responsibilities.
Kerr, based in the company’s London office, will continue in his role to the end of June 2010, and then carry on providing non-exclusive consultancy for Classic Media.
Kerr said, “It’s been tremendously rewarding at Classic Media. The company’s portfolio is poised for real success in the months and years to come, with Postman Pat, Guess with Jess and Tinga Tinga Tales enjoying a terrific reception in the marketplace and some of the best licensing partners in the business.” Kerr added, “While I'll miss working day-to-day with the great people at Classic, I am excited to move forward with my own venture.”
Eric Ellenbogen, Co-CEO of Classic Media commented: “We’re disappointed to see Andrew leave, but we look forward to maintaining an ongoing relationship with him”. He added, “Since joining the Company three years ago Nicole Blake has demonstrated her expertise as a brand marketer and done a fantastic job in growing the North American consumer products business. I’m fully confident that our London team, working with Nicole, will continue to drive growth in our business globally.”
In addition to the extension of Blake’s role to include the UK and rest of world, current London office executives Claire Shaw and Mat Way have also seen their responsibilities increased. Shaw’s expanded role as VP, consumer products and retail will see her drive all licensing, retail development and promotional activity for the company’s brands in the UK. Mat Way adds international consumer products to his current global live entertainment remit becoming VP, consumer products and live entertainment, international. Both will continue to be based in the Company’s London office and report to Blake.
