CBBC premiere for Simon’s Cat
Online phenomenon and viral sensation, Simon’s Cat, received its television debut last weekend on CBBC.

Created by award-winning English animator Simon Tofield, Simon’s Cat is a genuine word-of-mouth phenomenon. The animated series of short films, which started online, follows the humorous adventures of Simon's cat and his relationship with Simon's cartoon alter ego.
Simon’s Cat ‘Let Me In’; is a two minute animated short written and produced by Simon Tofield which was shown as part of the My Toons Summer Special, which showcases the eight most popular animations from the CBBC website.
Simon Tofield’s inspiration for this particular short was based on his observation of a friend’s cat struggling to get in through the back door at night. ‘Let Me In’ is one of eight animated shorts that Simon has written and produced which appear on the Simon’s Cat website,
www.simonscat.com.
This television premiere announcement follows the recent YouTube release of the latest Simon’s Cat animation entitled ‘The Box’ which passed the 1 million view mark in just two days and received a YouTube Honour for the most viewed video on YouTube on Friday, 20th August.
