New Spanish deals for Imira

Spanish production and distribution company Imira Entertainment has announced a series of new broadcast deals across its programme portfolio.

A deal has been brokered with Spanish channel Canal Sur for two animated children’s shows, Planet Grabo and Corneil & Bernie (pictured), from Millimages. Canal Sur, part of Forta’s public broadcasting network, has acquired 26 x 13-minute episodes of Planet Grabo aimed at eight to 12 year olds, and 52 x 13-minute episodes of Corneil & Bernie, aimed at six to 10 year olds.

In a separate deal Televisión de Canarias has acquired two teen TV movies from the Imira library: Scooter, Secret Agent and Wicked Science. Both 90-minute movies are produced by Jonathan M. Schiff and ZDF Enterprises.

This Spanish news follows Imira’s recent sales deals with Forta channels ETB and TV Galicia in Spain, which renewed their commitment to a number of HIT Entertainment series. ETB renewed series one and two of Pingu, alongside a deal to acquire seasons three to six of the animated show, while TV Galicia renewed Pingu and Sheeep.

Christophe Goldberger, head of distribution and marketing at Imira Entertainment said: “The Millimages and ZDF Enterprises libraries are consistently popular in Spain and we’re very pleased to sign these deals which extend our presence on Spanish broadcast platforms.” Imira Entertainment represents the rights to the Millimages and ZDF Enterprises TV catalogues in Spain, Portugal, Latin America and Hispanic US.
