Pip pops up in Russia

Pip cards go on sale across Russia and the Ukraine via top distributor Otkrytoe Pis'mo.

This adds to Pip’s ever-growing global expansion with huge sales being reported in France, Germany, Finland, Italy, Switzerland, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia. Pip is already a massive hit in the UK, with the cards selling in huge numbers on Moonpig.com and through 500 high street outlets.

The success of the cards has led to interest from the licensing community. Bluebird Brands has already been signed for a range of Pip-branded mugs, coasters, purses, wallets and umbrellas, while Shreds has just come on board for a range of products aimed at two to four year olds, including aprons, mini tote bags, giftpack melamine sets and lunchbags. Pip-branded notebooks and party invites are also proving to be a big hit after launching through Over the Moon at the end of last year.

Although the Pip cards appeal to a wide demographic, two specific markets will be targeted for licensed merchandise: young children, as represented by the Shreds deal, and tweens and students, as represented by the Bluebird Brands range.
