Bernard marches on
The BRB series continues conquering new frontiers and prepares to make the leap to the big screen
The animated series Bernard is revving its engines in preparation for
attending MIPTV. The three-season series, starring the curious polar
bear who travels the world, continues to awaken tremendous interest in
many different countries, from Europe to America.
Bernard (156 x 3-min) has just been acquired by HBO for eastern Europe,
Teletoon in France, MTV and Mega Sport for Ukraine, Estonian TV in
Estonia, DR in Denmark and Tring Digital in Albania, while the Russian
channel 2X2 has renewed its acquisition rights for the series. Also,
Portugal's Canal Panda has recently acquired corresponding television
rights.
The series, currently being sold for television practically throughout
the entire world, has inspired a feature-length film, Superbernard,
which will premiere in 2012. The company Screen 21 has already begun
production in Barcelona. The made-for-TV movie My Friend Bernard has
just closed a deal with Cartoon Network for the Latin American market.
Meanwhile, and as a result of the growing demand for Bernard on the
international market, BRB is reinforcing the brand by adding new
projects and modernizing the style of the property in order to adapt
it, in a global sense, to all possible markets around the world.
