Bright charity auction raises £5K for Kids Company!
A host of art-lovers descended on the Kids Company headquarters last week, where leading illustration/creative agency Bright Group International (BGI) hosted an auction of original works from some of the country’s top artists, with all proceeds going towards the children’s charity.
The team at Bright gathered together a collection of wonderful and unique pieces of art from the artists they represent, including Children’s Laureate Oliver Jeffers (Lost and Found), Emma Thompson (Felicity Wishes) and Sue Hendra (Barry the Fish With Fingers).
Every single penny from the auction was donated to Kids Company and the fast and furious bidding saw an amazing total of £5,000 being raised for the charity, with founder Camila Batmanghelidjh on hand to watch it all happen.
Among the guests was David Wootliff, licensing director at Hallmark who commented: “There were some fantastic pieces of art at the auction and all credit must go to the Bright team for putting on a wonderful event in aid of a wonderful cause!”
The auction adds to Bright’s ongoing commitment to the charity – the company already provides work experience opportunities to children from Kids Company and is currently working on a book proposal about the story of the charity.
BGI MD Vicki Willden-Lebrecht explained: “As a company we really want to develop our social commitment and working with charities such as Kids Company is incredibly important to us – Camila and the team do an amazing job and so it is fantastic to be able to support them in any way we can."
