HarperCollins’ smashing deal

HarperCollins is the official publisher for the forthcoming Wallace and Gromit six-part TV series

The deal was concluded by Richard Haines, category manager at HarperCollins and Helen Neno at Aardman Rights, for UK and ANZ rights. Due to air this autumn on BBC One, the series will be accompanied with a hardback collection of inventions entitled Wallace and Gromit: A World of Invention.

The book takes readers on an enjoyable and intelligent exploration of some fantastic, ground-breaking inventions as well as those considered more outrageous and less successful. A World of Invention will be published in October 2010 to coincide with the TV series, which will form part of the BBC’s year long celebration of science.

Richard Haines at HarperCollins said: "We are very excited to be working with Aardman on this project.Wallace and Gromit are the perfect characters to introduce children of all ages to the wonderful world of inventions and science. We feel that, alongside the BBC TV series, we will have the perfect formula for family entertainment this Christmas."

Helen Neno, international licensing manager at Aardman said: “Wallace & Gromit present a World of Invention is an exciting new format for the brand and we believe, working closely with HarperCollins, that this will be a great tie-in publishing format, and the must have book for fans of the show.”
