Buxton gets hammered
The Buxton Brewery Company Limited has signed a contract with Coolabi, which represents Hammer Films licensing worldwide, to produce three Hammer-themed beers for the European market.
Coffin Ale, a very pale ale, Dracula’s Desire, a deep, blood-red bitter, and the very strong, full-bodied IPA Curse Of Frankenstein will be available in bottles and on draught from September. Each will have a label or beer pump clip illustrated with a classic film poster image from the library of Hammer House of Horror films.
The draught versions of the beers will initially be made available to pubs as guest ales in the area supplied by the Buxton Brewery Company Limited. The company is also targeting other key markets, including London, where the Hammer draught beers are expected to have a strong appeal.
The bottled beers will be sold through off-licences and supermarkets and online through independent retailers and the soon-to-be launched
www.hammerhouseofbeer.com website. Bottles and casks will also be made available to interested outlets throughout Europe.
The beers will make one of their first appearances at the annual Bram Stoker International Film Festival in Whitby, Yorkshire, from Thursday 14th - Sunday 17th October 2010 (

The deal with the Buxton Brewery Company Limited is the latest in a growing list of licences for the Hammer brand. Hammer fans, along with film and licensing industry professionals, also have a dedicated resource for news, information, games and merchandise at the popular
