Elmo visits Milkshake!
Elmo, the lovable, fluffy red monster from Sesame Street, has been making a very special guest appearance at Channel Five’s Milkshake! studio this week.
Appearing alongside regular presenter Naomi for three days, and introducing popular animation ‘Elmo’s World’, Elmo was answering questions from viewers, taking part in all kinds of games and dance routines, and – most importantly – helping Naomi celebrate her ten-year anniversary at Milkshake! Three special episodes of ‘Elmo’s World’ will also feature.
Despite still being only three years old, Elmo has been a favourite with children across the world for nearly three decades. Taking a break from his home in the US, where he lives with such furry celebrities as Bert and Ernie, Elmo came to London to visit his British pals and enjoy a spot of sightseeing.
The fun started on Tuesday when Elmo first joined Naomi so she – and the vewers – could get to know him a bit better. Elmo answered all sorts of questions – what he likes to eat, who his friends are and what games he likes to play. Wednesday was Naomi’s birthday and Elmo and the Milkshake! gang had a party, complete with hats, streamers and balloons. Elmo was also able to see some portraits of himself drawn by children at home. This morning (Friday) Elmo told viewers all about his holiday in England, what he’s been up to during his visit and what else he has planned before he goes home.
Finally, Elmo led the celebrations for Naomi’s ten-year anniversary at Milkshake, before saying goodbye to the Milkshake! gang.
Luckily, LTW managed to pop along to the studio and spend some one-on-one time with him before he left to go back home to the US. LTW had a great chat with Elmo – who was a real charmer, in every sense of the word – and will be bringing you the latest news from the little red dude next week.
