Novel Entertainment appoints children's brand manager
Novel Entertainment, leading independent producers of top children’s programmes, has appointed Kelly Henwood to lead the future development of its TV properties.
Kelly will be responsible for co-ordinating a wide range of brand partners across a variety of product areas, as well as initiating marketing campaigns and cross-promotional strategies. She joins the company with five years experience in consumer products, marketing and licensing.
Most recently Kelly was licensing and marketing manager at Oxford Limited, a subsidiary of the University of Oxford, where she managed the global brand licensing programme. In her new role, Kelly will work closely with Novel’s licensing agency Copyright Promotions and international distributors, as well as expanding and consolidating the brands’ online presence. Mike Watts, co-founder of Novel Entertainment says: “Novel’s brand activity has increased significantly and Kelly’s appointment comes at exactly the right time to help grow our business further. We are very much looking forward to her joining the company.”
Kelly adds: “I am thrilled to have joined Novel Entertainment, and to have the opportunity to work with this innovative team. It will be a pleasure to develop and take to the next level such popular and thriving brands in this dynamic sector. I look forward to being an integral part of Novel Entertainment’s forward thinking, bright future.”
Novel Entertainment has just announced the co-production of a live-action 3D movie of Horrid Henry with Vertigo Films, slated for release in 2011. Novel’s animated Horrid Henry TV show (104 x 11 mins) is the most successful series ever for CITV and it has so far been adapted for stage, radio, and online as well as being at the heart of a successful licensing and merchandising programme.
Novel Entertainment also has a long-standing relationship with CBeebies, having produced 130 episodes of The Roly Mo Show and 230 episodes of preschool show Fimbles for the broadcaster.
