Plush deal for Hari
New pre-school brand featuring lovable elephant Hari scores major new licensing deal as plush specialists Dowman Soft Touch sign agreement to produce a range of products featuring several different characters.
The new deal comes just eighteen months after the brand first launched
and will see Dowman Soft Touch producing a range of plush featuring
Hari and five other characters from the series – hand puppets and
finger puppets will also be produced. The products are set to go on
sale this autumn.
The brand is the creation of father and son team Tristan-Paul and Tristan-Sean McGee. The first two books have sold in huge numbers through the company’s website –
www.harisworld.com – and branches of Waterstone’s across the country, and are also proving to be a big hit in libraries. The third book in the series is due for release in September and the publishing programme is now moving into story and activity packs.
“As soon as I saw Hari's World I was absolutely confident that it will be a winner and perfect for the Soft Touch brand,” said Dominic Whittle, managing director of Dowman Imports Ltd. “The characters are extremely well conceived and very engaging for youngsters. The whole concept really draws children in and I'm delighted to be associated with a character which has an important message for modern society.”
“Hari’s World is colourful, vibrant and absolutely huge fun but it also incorporates a very subtle theme about child safety that is designed to lessen the risk from unintended injury to children,” adds Hari’s World MD Tristan-Sean McGee.
