HarperCollins 'has a go' with new TV deal

Conexion Media Group Plc, the AIM listed entertainment and media rights management company, has announced a television option agreement for 'Have a Go Harvey' with HarperCollins Children’s Books.

The agreement launches Conexion’s television production business with an animated series based on the highly successful HarperCollins children’s series 'Have a Go Harvey'.

Conexion have enlisted award winning script writer and editor Colin Davis (Dr Who, Blakes 7, Engie Benjy, Kid Clones in Space and Rocketboy & Toro) to provide the scripts. Conexion will be working on the pre-production and pilot in the coming weeks and presenting to international broadcasters in October 2010.

Mark Rowland, head of business development, said: “The agreement with HarperCollins will allow us to further expand our rights business into co-production and intellectual property within television. We believe that we have the perfect partner with HarperCollins and the perfect property. Harvey is ideal to be developed into a television series due to its high profile and success in the children’s book market. We look forward to working with Melanie, her team and the author, Tania H Newton. Our aim is to have completed all pre-production and have a pilot episode to launch at the major TV licensing market MIPCOM in October”.

Melanie Beer, HarperCollins’ head of licensing and content development, added: “We’re delighted by Conexion Media’s shared excitement at developing HarperCollins’ Have a Go Harvey publishing series for TV. The experience and enthusiasm of Mark and his team, coupled with Colin’s award-winning writing style, will ensure that Harvey is developed into a successful international brand both on and off screen."
