Peanuts and Condor support charity organisation
To celebrate Peanuts’ 60th anniversary in 2010, Condor, a leading German airline, has launched a fundraising campaign to support the international charity organisation Wings of Help.
The official initiative of Peanuts licensing partners in Germany to support charity projects and help children in need as part of Charlie Brown’s birthday celebrations gains further momentum with Condor's contribution.
Peanuts and Condor are working together to develop a large scale licensing programme in co-operation with Copyright Promotions Licensing Group Germany (CPLG), Peanuts' licensing agency. Condor will be supporting child relief projects of the charity organisation “Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen e.V. - Wings of Help”, with a proportion of their ticket and on-board shop proceeds as well as numerous special events, including an auction of custom-painted model airplanes featuring Peanuts characters. All auction proceeds will be fully donated to the charity.
The flagship of each Condor fleet will feature eight Peanuts characters to promote the upcoming charity campaign and to put smiles on the faces of young and not-so-young air passengers. For all other airplanes, characters will be incorporated into the official Condor logo in addition to appearing on the Condor website and on inflight entertainment.
“We are proud to work with a co-operation partner as enthusiastic as Condor,” said Gerold Kolenbrander, managing director of CPLG. “When a traditional company freely incorporates another brand into their own corporate logo, they are not only paying a compliment on the importance and influence of Peanuts; first of all they pay tribute to the idea behind each relief operation: Together we are strong!”
Peanuts is one of the most popular and successful comic strips of all time. More than 2,200 newspapers in over 75 countries reach 330 million readers daily, and the brand inspires customers around the globe with comics, DVDs, books, internet content and thousands of licensed articles.
