Tee Party boosts The Light Fund
The prestigious Mid-Surrey Golf Club in Richmond recently paid host to some of the licensing’s finest golfing talents as the industry turning out in force for the golf day in aid of The Light Fund, which took place on Friday May 21st.
The event was organised by Andrew Levy from Licensingpages, with help from Anthony Temple and Alicia Davenport from DRi/Rainbow Designs, Simon Gresswell from IMG and Rob Corney from Bulldog Licensing. Sponsors kindly offering their support included Allsorts Licensing, Cartoon Network, Chapman Entertainment, EB Brands, Kazachok, and Start Licensing.
The event saw near 60 golfers and beginners raise their clubs in aid of the Light Fund, with a full eighteen holes on offer for experienced players and a special introductory session for non-golfers and ‘hackers’ that helped explain the mysteries of the game. As part of the fun, golfers also entered into competition for the highly prized ‘Gary’ awards. This year’s Gary winners were:
Highest Team Score: IMG/Character Options
Nearest to the Pin: Jon Diver, Character Options
Longest Drive: Andrew Kerr, Classic Media
Straightest Drive: Chris Thompson, Vogue Housewares
Best Individual: Anthony Temple, Rainbow Designs /DRi
Most improved beginner: Alicia Davenport, DRi Licensing
Most importantly the event helped raise a stack of money for The Light Fund and it is hoped that final figure will be around £2,000.
“The whole day was a fantastic event and offered something for everyone, from serious golfers to complete beginners,” says co-organiser Andrew Levy, “everyone involved had a great day out and most importantly we were able to raise a magnificent total for The Light Fund, my thanks go out to all golfers, sponsors and organisers!”
