VEGAS 2010: Figures show 15% raise in attendance

Licensing International Expo, the world’s premier marketplace for the $191 billion licensing industry, also announced a 14 per cent increase in international presence, as major exhibitors renew for 2011.

The show concluded on June 10 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center with an increased pre-registered attendance of 21,000, a rate of more than 15 per cent over last year.  International visitors from key countries, including Japan, France, Mexico, The UK, Russia, Spain, Singapore and China, also increased by more than 14 per cent for the three day expo.

“The 2010 show was our highest attended show in many years with our opening day receiving more visitors than the entire three days of last year’s show,” said Liz Crawford, show director with Advanstar Communications, show organiser. “We were thrilled with the quality of attendees and the quantity of key retailers and international visitors to the show. Customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.”

Many exhibitors had a successful show and have already reserved space for the 2011 show. “The proof is in the numbers,” explained Crawford, “with the increased attendance and quality, our show floor is already booking briskly, and 75 per cent of the floor is already sold out for next year!”

“The entire team at Warner Bros. Consumer Products could not be happier with this year’s show,” said Victor Allen, vice president of worldwide marketing for WBCP. “Traffic and attendance were non-stop at the Warner Bros.’ booth, including both U.S. and international licensees and partners. This year’s show was amazing. The show in Vegas is back on top and 2011 promises to be even bigger and better.”

Licensing International Expo 2011 will take place between June 14-16 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
