Licensed toys win at ATA awards
The 2010 Australian Toy Association’s Annual Product of the Year Awards
have been announced with a number of licences making the top grade.
Hosted as a kick-start to the 2010 Australian Toy, Hobby & Nursery
Fair, the Product of the Year Awards are the industry’s only awards for
excellence and have proven in previous years to set the benchmark for
the next toy craze.
The Early Engineers’ Wooden Thomas ‘Busy Day on Sodor Roundhouse’
Set from RC2 was awarded Licensed Product of the Year and Licensed
Product – Pre-School.
Beados Disney Fairies Super Studio from Studio Moose won the Girls
Licensed Product category and LEGO’s Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle won
the Boys Licensed Product category.
Peter Byrne, EVP Consumer Products International, HIT Entertainment
said: “To win three of the top industry awards in one fell swoop is
true testimony that Thomas and Friends is the undisputed Number 1
licence in Australia. It is a fantastic accolade and great recognition
of all our partners who have supported the brand”.
