LMI takes on iconic stage show
London-based licensing agency to handle international licensing for The Phantom of the Opera and Love Never Dies.
The Really Useful Group Ltd signed Licensing Management International (LMI) to develop and manage its licensing program for The Phantom of the Opera and Love Never Dies in all territories outside of North America to complement its own in theatre activities.
Andrew Maconie, chief executive of LMI commented: “We are absolutely delighted to be representing not only The Phantom of Opera as it enters its silver anniversary year with a wealth of newly available creative materials drawing on the original set and costume designs, but also the Phantom’s continuing story titled Love Never Dies, which opened in London in March 2010.”
He continued: “I have to say that I consider this to be a similar opportunity to taking on the licensing for the initial Star Wars trilogy, which is how we started our business in the 1980s. The show is great, and the music is phantastic!”
Backed by the highest receipts ever recorded for a theatrical production The Phantom of the Opera has become a worldwide phenomenon.
