Myface and WBCP launch Superhero art competition
Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) and Myface have signed an alliance to commemorate the 75th anniversary of DC Comics with a collection of exclusive products which engage DC Super Heroes with the art world.
DC Comics is home to the World's Greatest Super Heroes; including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern. These iconic characters have defined heroes in the collective imagination, creating modern mythology for every generation in all media. They have inspired blockbuster movies, classic television shows, exciting video games and an array of consumer products for fans of all ages everywhere in the world.
Myface has devised an original contribution in honor of this Europe-wide alliance, to produce an exclusive collection of works on the theme of DC Comics Super Heroes, depicting four of the greatest: Batman, Superman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman.
It has just launched a competition for artists, including students at Europe’s most prestigious art schools, to offer their own 'digital interpretation' of the most famous DC Comics heroes. An international jury of art professionals will select just three winners from the works submitted, rewarding them with a cash prize. All works in the final selection, however, will appear in the Art Cube exhibition created by Myface, which will tour the European capitals according to a predetermined schedule.
Myface and WBCP will then select 25 exclusive DC Comics covers to be designed in a unique Myface style. All the products produced under this collaboration - diasec and T-shirts - will be sold in June in Europe's best concept stores, including Colette and Harvey Nichols, as well as in the Myface gallery.
