Ludorum Appoints More Licensees For Chuggington

Ludorum plc, a leading specialist in the creation of global pre-school children's IP, announced today that it has appointed a number of additional licensees to join its hit pre-school franchise, Chuggington.

New Chuggington partners include Worlds Apart (pop up play and ready beds), Abbey Home Media (audio books), Wesco (watches and gifts) and Ethos (personal care).  BBS has been appointed as licensee for party stationery throughout Continental Europe. Halsall have extended their agreement for Chuggington bikes, scooters, trikes, bike accessories and protective clothing beyond the UK and products will shortly be available in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Iberia, Eastern Europe, The Middle East and Israel.

Ludorum recently announced that it has secured a worldwide agreement with leading Canadian toy manufacturer, MEGA Brands Inc. to produce a range of Chuggington construction toys under their globally recognised MEGA BLOKS® brand.  Product will roll-out internationally from autumn 2011 and will be available in the United States from spring 2012.

The Chuggington UK licensing programme commenced in spring 2010 with the roll-out of Learning Curve’s die cast and interactive ranges.   Learning Curve’s Chuggington toys have made a strong impact at retail and their ‘All Around Chuggington Train Set’ was recently voted one of the top 12 Christmas Dream Toys in the pre-school category as voted by the TRA (Toy Retailers Association).

Today’s announcement brings the number of Chuggington licensees appointed globally to date to 160 and the hugely popular TV series has now sold to over 175 countries around the world.
