Zodiak Rights Launches Qpiz
Qpiz, a brand new international multiplatform property, aimed primarily at young teen girls is the new offering from Zodiak Rights.
The initial elements that make up the Qpiz brand include a series of animated shorts, an online world (www.theqpiz.com) full of fun games, quizzes, the first videogame aimed specifically at girls, and a series of comic strips in popular teen magazines in Italy.
The animated fillers, which are set to launch on Rai to coincide with St Valentine’s Day 2011, together with the online world are sassy and irreverent with a strong and unique appeal to tween and teen girls. Because of the subtle mix of teen issues and fun content it is expected that Qpiz will also have a following of young boys too.
A stellar line up of US storyboard artists and writers, who have previously worked on highly successful animated series including The Simpsons and Futurama, have created the show based on Neo Networks’ original designs.
Cristina Fiumara, director of kids entertainment at Neo Network said: “Qpiz has been a truly multiplatform concept from the very beginning. We felt that much of the web and on-line game world was focused at boys and we wanted to extend this into the girls’ space. Qpiz appeals to girls, giving them the opportunity to move seamlessly from TV to books, to online and back to magazines, to communicate with their friends, make new ones and have fun across all kinds of games and cool applications. As well as being multiplatform Qpiz is a multi-cultural and international brand which we have high hopes for.”
