PGS gets The Gees

PGS Entertainment, the French distribution outfit which specialises in high- children’s and family programming, has today announced that it will represent Studio Hari’s new property, The Gees for worldwide distribution across TV, Video, Licensing and Merchandising.

The HD CGI-animated series is the latest property from the animation house behind The Owl which has sold in over 200 territories, airing on leading broadcast platforms worldwide.

The Gees are the newest superstars on the planet and the first extra-terrestrials to visit the Earth. They are inquisitive, friendly and quirky but they are hard work. Their boundless enthusiasm in exploring the human world is equalled only by their total clumsiness and their irresistible urge to do the wrong thing at the wrong time. From visiting the White House to fishing in Nunavut or working in a top restaurant, The Gees' presence never causes anything but chaos. Their mission to experience everything Earth has to offer has humankind bewildered and wondering why they ever invited these crazy creatures into their world.

The Gees series is already backed by France’s Gulli, who are co-producers, and is generating worldwide interest prior to delivery in Fall 2010.

PGS will launch The Gees to the international marketplace at MIPTV 2010.

Philippe Soutter, MD of PGS said: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with Studio Hari, whose worldwide success has set the standard in European animation. The Gees follows the same comedic genius as Studio Hari’s is now known for, and we are looking forward to showing the first episodes to our worldwide broadcast clients at MIPTV.”
