First apparel partners for We Bare Bears

Cartoon Network kicks off the EMEA licensing programme for the prime time rating show and today unveils BCI and Smyk as the brand’s first apparel partners

Grizzly, Panda and Ice, the bear brothers from Cartoon Network’s prime time rating show We Bare Bears continue to draw huge audiences, reaching an impressive 161M individuals around the world during Q2 2017. The show follows the adventures of the three brothers’ awkward attempts at finding their place in modern-day civilised society, whether that be looking for food, making human friends or scheming to become internet famous.

Building on the latter theme, the bears are also enjoying great success in the digital world, with top-performing global app We Bare Bears: Free Fur All racking up an impressive 30 million worldwide downloads.

With consumer demand building and season three rolling out on TV screens, Cartoon Network is now kicking off the EMEA licensing programme for We Bare Bears and today unveils the brand’s first apparel partners. For fans in the UK, BCI has been signed to launch a range of nightwear for both kids and adults while in Poland, Smyk is on board for kidswear, footwear and fashion accessories. Both ranges are scheduled to launch in spring/summer 2018.

“Beyond the target audience of kids 6-12, We Bare Bears has a strong teen and adult appeal too thanks to its relatable, social-media engaged characters, laugh-out-loud humour and smart storylines,” explains Johanne Broadfield, VP of Cartoon Network Enterprises EMEA. “The show is really resonating across our TV, digital and social platforms and we’re seeing the growing momentum with fans translating into demand for product.”
