Bulldog signs Sindy

Bulldog Licensing now represents legendary doll brand Sindy, after signing a deal with licensor Pedigree

Autumn 2012 sees the start of the celebrations for Sindy’s 50th anniversary with plans in place for a Sindy exhibition at a high profile London venue to explore her influence on British style. A number of additional initiatives are under discussion to coincide with this landmark event. Over the last fifty years, Sindy has been an air hostess for British Airways, a ballerina, a champion dressage rider and has even starred in lectures to students of fashion at the University of East London.

Sindy is the British doll that first launched in 1962 and enchanted a generation of young girls – becoming the biggest selling toy in Britain by the late 60s.

Bulldog will be looking to target sectors that tie in with Sindy’s strong position within the fashion world, such as perfume, accessories, apparel, jewellery and footwear.

“Sindy occupies a very special place in British culture and is familiar to millions, as well as being a brand with a serious reputation as a fashion icon,” says Bulldog MD Rob Corney. “The brand’s fiftieth anniversary next year will produce a huge amount of publicity and we are looking to develop a
programme that concentrates on high-end fashion product. We are already attracting considerable interest from licensees and are expecting to announce on new deals very soon.”
