Egmont signs Generator Rex

Egmont Publishing Group has signed a deal with Turner CN Enterprises to publish content across both print and digital formats based on the Cartoon Network series Generator Rex.

From the creators of Ben 10 - Man of Action group - and the co-writers of X-men Legends, Generator Rex is a cartoon about a 15-year-old boy with the ability to produce machines from his body. TV statistics following the US launch in April 2010 rank it number one in its time slot for kids two to 11 years old.

The new deal will see Egmont publish a comprehensive range on Generator Rex that will include fiction, activity books, annuals, personalised books, children’s magazines and digital formats.

David Riley, managing director of Egmont Publishing Group commented on the deal: “Generator Rex is a fantastic property full of exciting stories and characters, and we are looking forward to translating this wonderful show to print.”

Cartoon Network has several licensees for the property, including global toy partner Mattel, and video games publisher, Activision.

Egmont will launch the new Generator Rex publishing range in July 2011.
