Ben & Holly toys with HTI

HTI, the UK’s largest privately-owned toy designer and manufacturer, has signed a multi-year licensing deal to launch a new range of Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom branded children’s toys.

The deal covers the UK and was settled with Entertainment One, who own the licensing rights.

The range, which is targeted at three to seven year old girls, includes a Tea Pot set, a Breakfast Gong set, a Princess Holly dressing table, a Magic Kitchen and a selection of dolls’ prams.

Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom is an animated series for pre-school children, which has been highly successful since its first showing in April 2009. 20,000 units of the Ben & Holly DVD sold in the first month of release in September 2010, making it the number one new pre-school release of 2010.

The series also won the BAFTA Best Pre-school Animation Award in 2009 and has just been commissioned for a highly anticipated second series.

The licensing agreement is the latest in high-profile brands secured by HTI, which already designs and manufactures ranges for Peppa Pig, Hello Kitty, Spiderman, JCB and Toy Story.

John Hutt, chief executive of HTI, commented: “The success of Astley Baker Davies with Peppa Pig meant that the licensing deal with Ben & Holly was particularly attractive and we were delighted to secure the opportunity. The feedback from retailers has been overwhelmingly positive with orders already being taken. It is the appeal of brands such as Ben & Holly combined with the popularity of role-play toys that has driven our global success.”
