Gormiti goes for Croissants

Giochi Preziosi and Marathon Media unveiled details of a lucrative deal with Chipita that will see the characters from Gormiti come to life on several of the company’s popular Chipicao Croissant Snack Packs.

Set up by Plus Licens, GP’s licensing agent for Eastern Europe and Nordics, the Gormiti/Chipicao promotion will run February until December 2011 and will feature on single, multi and mini Chipicao croissant packs to be distributed across fourteen countries in Eastern Europe.

As part of this special promotion and to increase its consumer awareness, a six-week TV advertising campaign is planned to start in February for Poland, Bulgaria and Romania, with a total of more than 2500grp. Further TV promotions are set for the Slovakia Republic in March and later in September for Serbia.

Chipita, a confectionary company with over ten branches across Europe, is renowned for making high quality croissants.  Speaking of the new promotional deal, George Maroulis, commented: “Children love both Gormiti and Chipicao, so this partnership is perfect for both ourselves and for GP and also the Gormiti fan base who will be offered a new opportunity to collect. We believe that Gormiti represents a lucrative strategic marketing opportunity for our croissant brands and that this will be reflected in sales.”

As a leading provider of snacks in these territories, the deal has created a valuable partner for reaching the Gormiti fan base and for encouraging even more boys to join in the Gormiti magic.”
