Monty Python Goes Mobile
Space Enterprises
, licensing agent for comedy brand Monty Python, has announced the launch of a brand new Python game for the iPhone.
Python legend Terry Gilliam has been involved in the approval process for the new game, called Cow Tossin’, which has been developed by Zed. The game lets iPhone users enter the surreal world of Python to use a catapult to toss cows and a whole host of other farmyard animals at armoured knights, from a scene in Monty Python and The Holy Grail.
“This new iPhone game is set to be massive and having Zed on board ties in with our strategy of taking Python forward into digital markets and embracing new technologies, which serves to exemplify the creativity, flexibility and ongoing potential of this classic brand,” commented Mark Hurry, director of licensing at Space Enterprises.
The deal with Zed adds to an increasing digital presence for Python as fans will soon be able to play a new Facebook game, The Ministry Of Silly Games, developed by social gaming specialists Zattikka. The madcap virtual world features a variety of games based on much-loved sketches, characters and films, such as Camelot Smashalot, Gumby Flower Arranging, King Arthur's Knight Fight and Monty Python’s Scratch ‘n’ Sniff.
