BLOODHOUND: the world’s fastest car

Aardman Animations turned heads at this year’s Toy Fair in London as they presented the latest licensing and merchandising project, the BLOODHOUND SSC, which aims to inspire a new generation of scientists and engineers by building a car capable of reaching 1,000 mph - with an exclusive all rights deal to represent the venture worldwide.

Aardman attended Toy Fair to meet with prospective new licensees and to announce Hornby coming on board as toy partner for a series of replica scale models of the BLOODHOUND car.

The Airfix arm of the toy and hobby-line manufacturer will be creating kits for consumers to build, while the Corgi brand will be producing finished replica die cast models marking the key stages in BLOODHOUND SSC’S development, thereby giving enthusiasts the opportunity to build a collection around this ground-breaking endeavour.

Sean Clarke, head of Aardman Rights, the sales, marketing and distribution arm of Aardman Animations, commented: “This is an exciting new direction for Aardman Rights, we have a proven ability to develop and market brands and taking on an entirely third party property was a natural next step for our business. We have created a licensing plan for BLOODHOUND that captures the cutting edge engineering and technology behind the venture in a range of aspirational products, with the ultimate goal of helping inspire a new wave of engineers and scientists and for everybody to feel part of this historic project.”
