Character World financial director shortlisted for award 

Character World’s financial director, Mark Schweiger, has been shortlisted for the North West Financial Director of the Year Award.

Schweiger, financial director at the Manchester licensing business was shortlisted from more than 200 nominations from across the region, after undergoing a strict judging process culminating in a panel interview.

Judges highlighted Mark’s role in securing RBS funding and negotiating Character World’s recent MBO, which valued the company at £20 million.  Character World also secured a place in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 league table 2010.

The awards have been set up by financial recruitment specialists Sharp Consultancy, with support from Barclays Corporate, Grant Thornton and DWF LLP.  They aim to highlight the importance the financial director role brings to the success of North West businesses.  

Winners will be revealed at an awards event in February hosted by the BBC’s Becky Want.
