Apples, pears and grapes for LazyTown
Washington Apple Commission, USA Pears and California Table Grapes have renewed deals with LazyTown Entertainment following the success in Mexico of the Dulces Sanos (Sports Candy) campaign.
Launched last November in Mexico, in partnership with the US Fruit Commissions, the campaign ran for 4 weeks with an impressive activation plan funded in large part by the USDA (US Department of Agriculture).
The campaign was featured in every major retailer across Mexico and included a full range of point of sale in the fresh produce department of nearly every grocery store in Mexico.
Washington Apple Commission increased exports in to Mexico by 29% or over 65 million incremental apples. Now the Apple Commission plan to increase the campaign from a one month promotion to over three months launching later this year and extending through Spring 2012.
This is welcome news and support for a country working hard to encourage kids to make healthier lifestyle choices.
