Rugby Football Union team up
Brace Of New Partners Announced For Rugby Football Union
CPLG Sport - licensing agent for the Rugby Football Union (RFU) - has brokered two new deals for the England Rugby brand.
The partnerships will see Future Memorabilia come on board for a line of framed memorabilia with built-in LCD TV whilst Sports Merchandise Global have become the official licensee for England Rugby branded non-retail premiums, corporate merchandise and corporate gifts.
The England squad are currently competing in the RBS 6 Nations tournament and have secured wins over Scotland and Italy. The 82,000 capacity Twickenham Stadium – the iconic home of England Rugby – is set to be a sell-out for the visit of Wales on Saturday 25th February, with millions more watching on television.
The England Rugby brand is equally successful in the licensing sector and these new deals add to an impressive existing list that features around 35 licensees across a wide range of categories, such as apparel, publishing, gift, toys/games, interactive, and food and drink.
“We are excited to announce these new additions to the RFU’s licensing programme and these partnerships come at a time when the licensing community is becoming increasingly aware of the huge commercial possibilities that surround the England Rugby brand in the build up to the 2015 Rugby World Cup, which is being hosted by England,” says Sophie Goldschmidt, RFU Chief Commercial Officer
Adds Nicola Thompson, CPLG Sport Senior Commercial Manager: “England Rugby is a huge brand and these new deals are adding to what is already an incredibly strong programme and one that is set to develop further as commercial foundations are laid for the next Rugby World Cup.”
