Groupe – Jemini moves to UK
Groupe
– Jemini has appointed Kids International
Marketing (KIM), to handle sales and marketing on a number of its key
brands, in the UK & Ireland
Jemini has long been established as a quality designer and manufacturer
of licensed plush toys. In recent years the Jemini has acquired a number
of companies, moving it into children’s furniture, tableware and
figurines. In 2011 group turnover is estimated at €36m.
Commenting on the agreement Groupe–Jemini Directeur General, Thierry
Bertoux says: "We are very well established in France and sell in to
more than 20 other markets. The appointment of KIM is an important step
for Groupe–Jemini in securing a similarly strong position in the UK
& Irish markets, in due course. KIM has eight agents in its team
covering the UK, making it as strong a sales team as any out there."
In turn KIM works exclusively with logistics company MTL distribution
who will launch Jemini products at Top Drawer & Toy Fair in January
and Spring Fair in February. Kim Carter adds: "MTL distribution is a
‘one stop shop’, which now services five different children’s brands for
us. This arrangement delivers our customers 1 shipping point, 1
invoice, product variety, low carriage paid orders, split pack supply
and it enables us to cover many more exhibitions than our competitors,
ensuring that our customers get to see the products on offer."
In 2012 the focus will be on Groupe-Jemini’s Fun House range of
children’s furniture, including multiple Disney licences and Hello
Kitty. The other key area will of course be plush where Jemini’s key
licences are again Disney (including Spiderman), Hello Kitty and
National Geographic.
