Spring Fair showcase for RSPCA licensees
New and established RSPCA partners come to the UK’s largest retail event in February
Leading animal welfare charity the RSPCA has a major presence at the UK’s largest retail event — not as an exhibitor but through its fast-growing licensee base. Five major names from the popular RSPCA licensing programme — Aurora World UK, BrownTrout Publishers, Noel Tatt Group, SERT-MST and Vogue — will be showing RSPCA-branded products or promoting future RSPCA output on their stands at Spring Fair International from 5-9 February at Birmingham’s NEC.
Aurora World UK (stand 3L04-M05), which supplies innovative character soft toys for a wide variety of retailers and distributors, has produced a range of RSPCA plush animals. The initial launch of 23 animals includes farm animals, pets, puppies, ponies and wild and woodland animals. These soft toys are not only ideal gifts but also help to raise awareness of the work of the Society with many different types of animals.
BrownTrout Publishers Ltd (stand 4C14), a major publisher of calendars and diaries covering a vast range of subjects, launched its RSPCA range throughout the UK in August. The range includes wall calendars, organisers and a slim pocket diary as well as BrownTrout’s popular slim calendar format, all featuring a number of stunning photographs based on popular animal themes including puppies, kittens and wildlife.
One of the longest-established RSPCA licensees is Noel Tatt Group (stand 4E40-F41), a manufacturer of quality greeting cards. Noel Tatt Group’s popular RSPCA range of greetings cards is designed using pictures from the RSPCA photo library. These charming, funny and often strikingly beautiful images are printed on 160mm square format cards with high gloss UV varnish.
By contrast, one of the most recent RSPCA licensees is SERT-MST plc (stand 11K21-L20). A leading specialist in the distribution of toiletries and household goods, SERT-MST recently launched its Petbase arm to produce a wide range of RSPCA-branded feed and accessories for wild animals and birds, as well as a line of hay, straw, woodshavings and soft woodchip-based bedding for small animals. All of these products are to be developed in cooperation with the RSPCA and its teams of experts, and will meet the Society’s exacting animal welfare and quality standards.
Finally the RSPCA is delighted to be able to announce its newest partner. Vogue International Limited (stand 1J14-H15) is known for a wide range of quality gifts aimed at kids — of all ages! It will be producing a range for the RSPCA based on its impressive list of gift products that include drinkware, lunchware, tableware and room decor such as storage and bins, clocks and LED torches and lighting.
Spring Fair takes place from 5-9 February at the NEC in Birmingham. It is expected to house some 3,000 exhibitors and attract more than 73,000 international and UK buyers.
The RSPCA’s fast-growing licensing campaign has already seen the charity make strong inroads as a trusted and high quality brand into a number of categories. The Society is looking at, or has already signed, deals in such areas as apparel, giftware, housewares, stationery, publishing, pet food, wild animal food and pet accessories.
The RSPCA’s trading manager Cathy Snow commented: “Spring Fair is one of the most important events in the European retail calendar. We are delighted that the successful development of the RSPCA’s licensing programme will be reflected in the presence of so many of the Society’s licensees at the show. Their contributions, both to funding and to boosting awareness, do a great deal to support the work of the RSPCA caring for animals throughout England and Wales.”
