Licensing Awards to be entered online
For the first time ever, the Best Licensed Property Awards categories of The Licensing Awards 2011 are to be entered online via the website www.thelicensingawards.co.uk
Debuting this year is a new award category – Best Licensed Classic Property, for properties that have stood the test of time (with at least a decade of licensing activity). Judging criteria include commercial success, marketing and communications, creativity and innovation and management. Closing date for entries is 20 May 2011.
Ian Hyder, director of The Licensing Awards and The Licensing Source Book (which owns and organises the awards) commented: "The Best Licensed Property Awards have become ultimate accolades in the licensing industry. By developing an online entering procedure for the Property Awards, with clear criteria, licensors can provide the information that presents their property or properties in the truest light."
There are six Best Licensed Property Awards categories in The Licensing Awards 2011:
Best Pre-School Licensed Property
Best Schoolers, Tween or Teen Licensed Property
Best Sports Licensed Property
Best Celebrity Licensed Property
Best Brand Licensed Property
And new for this year – Best Classic Licensed Property.
Each licensed property submission will be judged against the following weighted criteria:
Commercial success over the last year (30%)
Marketing and communications over the last year (25%)
Creativity and innovation over the last year (25%)
Management of the property over the last year (20%)
Entries will be viewed on-line by a panel of industry experts (comprising retail buyers, licensees and respected consultants). After preliminary online judging to arrive at ten finalists in each category, the panel will meet to discuss the respective merits of these contenders to arrive at the winner and finalists. The winners of the Best Licensed Property Awards as well as all the other awards categories will be revealed at The Licensing Awards 2011 event, which takes place on September 13 in The Great Room of the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
