New publishing licenses for Rainbow

Rainbow heads to the Bologna Book Fair with a slew of new publishing deals.

The new publishing licenses include books and magazines for Winx Club, the number one girl’s property in Europe, and PopPixie, the animated comedy for 4-10 year olds, which takes place in Pixieville - a fantastical dimension where gnomes and magical animals live happily together with endlessly entertaining Pixies.

The new property PopPixie has made an impressive foray into licensing following its hit TV ratings across Europe. Top on the list is the publishing deal with Rusconi Gruppo Editoriale for novels and activity books. In France, long time partner Hachette have the book license, and will launch 24 titles a year.

In Spain and Portugal, a huge volume of PopPixie will be launched by Editorial Planeta and Ediçoes ASA respectively, whilst Turkish partners, ALFA Publishing and Aventura, will take on the PopPixie books and magazines.

In Russia, where Winx Club is the number one girls property, AST won the Russian magazine rights (more than 300,000 copies distributed monthly). ALFA Publishing will distribute Winx books under its Artemis brand, while Aventura will distribute the hugely popular Winx magazine in Turkey and GIPTA have penned a stationary deal.

In Spain Medialive has the license for the Winx Club books, while Panini continues to distribute the monthly magazine; in Norway Schibsted Forlage has picked up the book rights with more than 10 titles to be launched per year; and in Germany, Blue Ocean renewed the magazine license, continuing its strong performance.
