HIT Entertainment has announced that it has signed seven new licensees to its pre-school property Mike the Knight.

Mike the Knight has apparel and accessories already signed, and the new signings comprise:

•   Akroyd and TDP - nightwear and underwear
•   Blues - outerwear
•   Trade Mark Collections - bags and luggage
•   VMC - dress up and accessories
•   William Lamb – footwear
•   Shreds - bags and aprons
•   Roy Lowe – socks.

Tracy Griffiths, senior director Hit Brands, EMEA commented: “The response from licensees has been historic. The fact that so many high profile companies are clamouring to sign with us reinforces our long held view that Mike has all the ingredients to become a major pre-school success.”

The series is due to air on CBeebies in the UK, TF1 in France and Treehouse in Canada this autumn. It is also set to broadcast on ABC Australia, SVT Sweden, NRK Norway and YLE Finland.

Co-produced with Corus Entertainment's Nelvana Studio Mike the Knight is a new 52 x 12' CGI series which transports viewers back in time to a magical medieval age. Mike is a 10-year-old boy with a big future ahead of him. The son of the King and Queen of Glendragon, he is determined to follow in his father's footsteps to become a brave and noble knight. With the triumphant moto “Be a Knight, do it right” the would-be hero is joined in his adventures by a host of characters including his trusty steed Galahad, two eccentric dragons, Squirt and Sparkie, and his sister Evie, a trainee wizard.
