Thundercats are on the loose

Iconic 80s property ThunderCats, are on the prowl again as WBCP prepare to relaunch the brand’s licensing programme in advance of its debut late in 2011.

Bandai recently unveiled its new toy line at the Toy Fairs in New York, London and Nuremburg to enthusiastic retailer support. The product line is set for launch just after Christmas 2011.

The ThunderCats licensing programme will be supported by an animated re-imagining of the iconic 1980s series due to hit UK TV screens in Q3 2011.  The series marks a creative collaboration between Warner. Bros. Animation (WBA) and Studio4°C in Japan.

Paul Bufton, GM at WBCP UK says: “There is an overwhelming amount of affection for ThunderCats amongst parents who grew up watching the show, this means that the programme will benefit greatly from parental and nostalgic endorsement. With our licensee partnerships shaping up and amazing retailer feedback there is every reason to believe that ThunderCats could return to become one of the hottest boy brands of recent times.”
