Olly the
Little White Van accelerates!
New licensing deals likely to boost sales of Olly the Little White Van product range
Independent licensing and brand development company Rocket Licensing
has launched the UK phase of the global licensing campaign for the hit
pre-school children’s show Olly the Little White Van.
With a fast-growing audience on CiTV, where it has been broadcasting
since the summer, the show has already secured Hornby as master toy
partner and now, Abbey Home Media, one of the UK's leading creators and
distributors of pre-school children's programming, as DVD partner which
will surely boost toy sales further.
Adding further success to Olly and the toy range, other licensing areas
are currently under discussion or being pursued across a wide range of
categories, including games, publishing, puzzles, gifts, homeware,
nightware and apparel.
Hornby, the legendary name behind Scalextric, Corgi and Hornby trains,
is developing an extensive, fun and innovative range, which includes a
special Scalextric set for pre-schoolers, which will launch in 2012.
Hornby’s plans include major trade support and TV advertising.
The 3-D, HD and CGI Olly the Little White van series is produced by an
award-winning team of writers, animators and composers at UK-based Ideas
at Work and Blink Animation Studios. Olly himself is voiced by the
massively popular children’s television presenter, actor and voice-over
artist Justin Fletcher, whose credits include ten hit children’s shows,
two BAFTAs and an MBE for services to children’s television and the
charity sector.
As well as fun, thrills and marvellous graphics, the show has a strong
developmental focus. Its scripts and production are informed by the
developmental needs of pre-schoolers and created with the aid of
education and child psychology experts.
Charlie Donaldson, Joint Managing Director, Rocket Licensing, says, “The
charm and humour of Olly the Little White Van, along with exceptionally
strong production values, writing and casting, put the show and the
licensing campaign in a very good position in the highly competitive
pre-school sector. With Hornby and Abbey already on board and more
partners on the way, we think this fun, exciting series has a lot of
juice in its tank!”
Henry Becket, Chief Enthusiast at Ideas At Work, adds, “We are thrilled
with the viewer response to Olly The Little White Van and are certain
that Rocket has the experience, ability and ideas needed to make this
brand as successful in the marketplace as it already is on television.”
