Bert and Ernie take the next right turn

Locutio Voice Technologies and Sesame Workshop Team Up to Launch Sesame Street GPS Character Voices

Navigation guidance from Sesame Street’s beloved Muppets now available for TomTom and Garmin GPS

Locutio Voice Technologies and Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organization behind Sesame Street, are releasing the original voices of Bert & Ernie for TomTom and Garmin personal navigation devices in English-speaking territories and select countries around the world.

Chris Hilton, CEO of Locutio, developers of the Sesame Street voices, says: “Sesame Street is as relevant and loved today as it was when it debuted in1969. We are thrilled to have developed the newest GPS voices for TomTom and Garmin. The Bert & Ernie product even features a creative first – two characters actually speaking together in one GPS offering. Every drive will be entertaining and delightful with the Sesame Street voices on the GPS.”

Risa Greenbaum, Assistant Vice President of International Licensing at Sesame Workshop, says: “Whether at home or on the road, the Sesame Street friends can be a part of every new adventure.  We are pleased to work with Locutio to make every trip a fun and safe one.”

With the availability of Bert & Ernie on both TomTom and Garmin, drivers can now let the characters help find the best route to your destination. Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch will follow on the Garmin platform in late November, just in time for the holidays.

Fans of Sesame Street will be amused and delighted to hear their favorite furry friends speak lines such as, Ernie; “In 50 yards, we will reach our destination”. Bert; “I’m thrilled down to my Argyll socks.”  Cookie Monster: “ Oh boy, we lose satellite reception. So now we no find da cookies.”
