The power of Peppa
eOne has announced a deal with Chellomedia’s Central European cartoon channel Minimax for Peppa Pig
Minimax will launch Peppa Pig Series 1 and 2 in December 2011 and the show will be broadcast in a variety of local languages including Hungarian, Romanian, Czech, Slovenian and Serbian
The deal with Minimax will greatly enhance Peppa Pig’s television presence in Eastern Europe where it is already shown on TVP and MiniMini in Poland, Ceska Televize in Czech Republic, RTV in Slovenia and Nova TV in Croatia.
Andrew Carley, Head of International Licensing, Entertainment One says:
“Central Eastern Europe is a key growth area for the Peppa Pig licensing
programme. Key categories including toy, publishing and apparel are
currently in negotiation for the Minimax territories with the retail
roll out set to commence next year.”
The awareness generated by this increased TV exposure also presents exciting development opportunities for the Peppa Pig licensing programme. Locally managed by Ink Brands, Peppa Pig merchandise is already established and very successful in Poland and the Former Yugoslavia and Ink will be working closely with eOne and Chellomedia to support the roll-out of the licensing programme into new countries in the region in 2012.
