Excitement is growing after the London premiere of the Steven Spielberg-directed and Peter Jackson produced movie The Adventures of Tintin.
The movie hits our screen this week film and Meccano is ready for its model replica film vehicles to race off the shelves.
Meccano has recreated Tintin’s Seaplane (320 pieces), 4 x 4 vehicle (270 pieces), and the Unicorn sailing ship (630 pieces), all of which figure prominently in the film. Models are priced from £29.99 to £49.99.
Sue Barratt, Country Manager, Meccano Toys (UK) Ltd, says: “The excitement is really building and I’m very privileged to be attending a special preview of the film before its general release. What I’ve seen of it so far, I’m convinced it will be a major success and associated licensed products such as our movie vehicles will become hot property.”
The film is based on the classic comic and characters created by the legendary Belgian artist Hergé, which has been translated into more than 80 languages with more than 230 million books sold to date. And the hullabaloo which surrounds the movie bodes well for toy sales.
