Disney opens Pandora's box

Avatar themed-rides had to Disney

Disney has obtained global theme park rights to the box office sensation, Avatar.

Construction on the theme parks will begin in 2013 with the parks scheduled to open three to four years later.

The appetite for all things blue will not have waned in that time, as James Cameron, Avatar director, is already working on two sequels.

Cameron stands to make a pretty penny from this deal, not only for the rights, but also from a percentage of food and beverage and merchandising sales when the park eventually opens.
