ToonBox Entertainment and Redrover's Bolts & Blip series.
2011 has been a banner year for ToonBox Entertainment and Redrover's Bolts & Blip series.
In September, the 26 x 22' series was the first animated production to help launch 3Net's full Stereoscopic channel in the U.S.A. The 3D feature film version based off of the characters of the series was also picked up for theatrical release in Korea and Russia, and is looking to expand into more territories in 2012.
Bolts & Blip has received several accolades starting with a nomination for the Award of Excellence by the YMA's (Youth Media Alliance), followed by a nomination for a Gemini Award for Best Sound in a Comedy, Variety, or Performing Arts Program or Series. The Gemini Awards & YMA's commemorates excellence in English-language Canadian television.
A deal with Maksco Toy was inked as the worldwide licensee for water blaster toys for the brand. Licensing agents Biplano (Spain, France, Portugal), Stark Brand Licensing (China, Hong Kong, Macao), and Luxor (CIS, Baltics) will be handing licensing and merchandising in these territories.
ToonBox and Redrover's first digital game, "Bolts and Blip: Quest of the Battle-Bots" was released earlier this year for the iPhone & iPad. With the tag line "Let's get ROCKED, SOCKED, and RUSTED," the app is a first shooter game where fast precision water-pistol skills are needed to rust the robotic enemies!
The series, which currently airs in over 70 territories, is about BFFs Bolts & Blip who are average robots that desperately want to be Battle-bots and play in the Lunar League of Robotic Sports. When they get their wish, they are in over their heads, and discover what they're made of as they battle the Blood-bots, Galaxy All-Stars, and the evil Dr. Blood. The show focuses on friendship, teamwork, and learning to believe in oneself.
